Sing to the Lord a new song,p

his praise in the assemblyq of his faithful people.

2Let Israel rejoicer in their Maker;s

let the people of Zion be glad in their King.t

3Let them praise his name with dancingu

and make music to him with timbrel and harp.v

4For the Lord takes delightw in his people;

he crowns the humble with victory.x

5Let his faithful people rejoicey in this honor

and sing for joy on their beds.z

6May the praise of God be in their mouthsa

and a double-edgedb sword in their hands,c

7to inflict vengeanced on the nations

and punishmente on the peoples,

8to bind their kings with fetters,f

their nobles with shackles of iron,g

9to carry out the sentence written against them—h

this is the glory of all his faithful people.i

Let Israel be glad in his Maker;

let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!

Let them praise his name with dancing,

For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;

he adorns the humble with salvation.

Let the godly exult in glory;

let them sing for joy on their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their throats

and two-edged swords in their hands,

to execute vengeance on the nations

and punishments on the peoples,

to bind their kings with chains

and their nobles with fetters of iron,

to execute on them the judgment written!

This is honor for all his godly ones.
